In August, I was lucky enough to go to Dublin to visit the amazing charity
Move4Parkinson’s was established in November 2011 by Margaret Mullarney who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2004. Since her diagnosis, Margaret has discovered that there is a huge range of activities that People with Parkinson’s (PWP’s) can undertake to improve their quality of life. Margaret has also recognised the huge value which PWP’s place on being able to speak with other PWP’s and to hear stories of how others have overcome similar challenges. On her journey so far, Margaret has met many others who share her passion for improving the quality of life of those with Parkinson’s and to give those people a voice.
I spent two days with Margaret and her team, visiting choirs and dance groups. So inspiring and so exciting to have made another international connection. Can’t wait to see the team again.
